DEAR LOVERS OF OPERA AND BALLET ART!
On the Donetsk stage began their “flight” People’s Artists of the USSR A. Krivchenya and Yu. Guliaev. In the performances of the Theatre participated the giants of the opera and ballet art of bygone years: I. Kozlovsky, P. LisitsianE. Miroshnicheko, O. Lepeshinskaya, L. Semeniaka and modern masters as well – V. Pivovarov, A. Gurets, M. Stefiuk, N. Ananiashvyly, M. Peretokin, A. Volochkova and many, many others. The theatre bears by right the name of the “Donetsk Nightingale”, worldwide well-known singer, our fellow-townsman, Anatoly Solovianenko. The main entrance of our theatre erects the monument to him. It is considered to be one of the architectural sights of our country by its beauty and originality. Today our collective is well-known in Ukraine and far beyond its borders by high artistic level of the performances. They delight the listeners and spectators by beautiful ensemble of the symphony orchestra, chorus, soloist-vocalists, ballet company. In our opera performances sing the prominent singers of the present – Liudmila Shemchuk, Victoria Lukianets, Yury Nechaev, Victor Tchernomortsev and others. We are proud of the fact that on our stage rose the star of the prominent ballet dancer of the present the People’s Artist of Ukraine Vadim Pisarev, who is the Artistic Leader of the Theatre. Under his direction were led 12 International Festivals “Stars of World Ballet”, which turned Donetsk into ballet capital.
Our admirers, which are a lot in Donetsk, Italy, Spain, the USA, China and other countries mark not only the masterly
performance of the artists, among which are many laureates of international contests, but also the artistic decoration
of the performances. Our theatrical repertoire numbers more than 30 names of the performances: works of native,

Our theatre is an adornment of the miner’s land, pride of Donetsk Region.
Thanks to the great labor of its creators already more than 70 years burns here the flame of art.
In the theatre always worked and now work people, for whom theatre is a way of living, stage – altar, art – prayer.
